"The Power of Jesus Is Real" by David Nall (Country/Gospel Artist from Fort Worth, Texas (TX))

In his latest gospel album, "The Power of Jesus Is Real," David Nall has released an uplifting and spiritual collection of songs. Nall's lyrics echo themes of inspiration and emotional teachings worshipping the Christian beliefs. His vocals are sung with deep and profound tones and are interlaced with sweet emotions. Intermingling with the gospel lyrics is the melodious and pleasant country ambiance of steel guitars and fiddle, which produces the impression of inspiring country gospel. Listen to the banjo as it plucks to an upbeat tempo in "Thank You Lord Jesus" while the harmonies perfectly unite with the lead vocals. In true gospel spirit, the guitar plays an upbeat country/blues solo on "God Can Move a Mountain" while the harmonica sings a riff of country soul. "The Power of Jesus Is Real" by David Nall is an easy listening and motivational country gospel album you will want to listen to, especially fans of Johnny Cash or Pat Boone.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Mike Koehl with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Working My Way Up To You"

"Working My Way Up To You" is a contemporary Christian rock album filled with great songs of devotion from a fantastic musician in Mike Koehl. Mike's vocals highlight the album with his great voice as the foundation and the harmony and layering bringing his talents to new heights. The overall sound of the album is very hip and modern. You'll hear some great innovations, both in the arrangements and in the production. Great care was taken in recording and mixing "Working My Way Up To You" to ensure the optimal spiritual experience while listening to this album, and it sounds top notch. "Jesus Reigns" kicks things off with a great variance in the arrangement and fantastic vocal layering. "Don't Mind the Rain" begins, oddly enough, with a rain track and evolves into a wonderful song with booming backing vocals and a certain southern rock quality. "Soul to Keep" wraps things up nicely with a beautiful piano progression, a little Mellotron, and another memorable vocal performance. "The Serenity Prayer" by Francisco Rivera (Spiritual Artist from California (CA))

Francisco Bawdon Rivera is a 46 year veteran of music making and it shows on this well written psalm-style folk single entitled "The Serenity Prayer." The first thing that grabs you is the intimate and timeless quality of Mr. Rivera's voice. It doesn't take long after that to notice the power of the words of the Serenity Prayer, which come across naturally as lyrics in this arrangement. A great guitar progression and classic sound round out the experience, as it is easy to see that the relationship between Francisco's vocals and his guitar have been well polished for quite some time. Another great quality to this track is a subtle story-teller quality that is delivered in such a natural way by Francisco as he sings this prayer. "It's Time For Love" by Marvin Webb (Spiritual Artist from San Francisco, California(CA))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Marvin Webb with a GrIndie Award for the CD "It's Time For Love"

"It's Time For Love" is a self-proclaimed rhythm & gospel live album from Minister Marvin Webb. His smooth r&b vocals are reminiscent of Marvin Gaye and Tedy Pendergrass, and together with lyrics of praise and worship, Minister Webb has crafted an inspiring contemporary gospel album. His lyrics criticize the social side of the secular world. He sings about violence and poor conditions within many communities, and politically, about the long battle for peace in the Middle East, lifting the words up and putting them in the hands of the nonsecular world. The recording quality of "It's Time For Love" is also quite good, with few traces that it is a live recording. That said, it still manages to make you feel as though you are in a house of worship. "Simon Peter" takes one of the most memorable of Jesus' prophecies and compares the audience to Simon Peter himself, inferring our imperfections and God's forgiveness. "Get Your Praise On" is a great funk gospel track with a great arrangement filled with funky lead guitar, hand claps, and a nice group vocal. Overall, "It's Time For Love" is an effective album that discusses contemporary issues and the value of praising God within each of them. Fans of contemporary gospel and worship songs prepare. Zeller breeches different cultures, languages, and types of song to deliver seventeen heartfelt, sentimental, and uplifting tracks that are sure to touch your heart. “It All Belongs to Him” by Elizabeth Salvatico (Spiritual Artist from Pennsylvania(PA))

"It All Belongs to Him" is the outstanding, eclectic contemporary Christian solo debut from singer/songwriter Elizabeth Salvatico. Salvatico blends her own cultural diversity with the influence she gained from a mission trip to Kenya to craft songs with African and Latin, as well as gospel, blues, jazz, symphonic orchestra, and piano rock qualities. This album also has songs sung in English, Spanish, and in chant form from the Masai of Kenya, though, regardless of language, all of the songs are about glorifying God. Salvatico has an excellent vocal range and takes lead on these songs well, and these recordings also feature some great vocal accompaniment from the Wilmington Chester Mass Choir. "It All Belongs to Him" is well-produced, the vocals and arrangements clean and professional sounding. "The Masai Song" opens up the album with an all-encompassing track that begins with a pleasant chant from the Masai, then introduces rhythmic conga beats that are soon after accompanied by violin and piano, and the three instruments just jam for a while. Salvatico lends her native tongue to the title track, "It All Belongs to Him," and "Your Love (Tu Amor)," which features excellent Latin guitar and piano work as Salvatico praises God for his love, alternating between English and Spanish. All of the other tracks are strictly in English, and have a great piano rock feel to them. "It All Belongs to Him" is a musically and vocally impressive debut from Elizabeth Salvatico, and any fan of eclectic contemporary Christian music should check it out.

“He Is Here” by Rosalina Vega (Spiritual Artist from Florida(FL))

"He Is Here" is a great praise & worship album from Panamanian gospel vocalist and songwriter Rosalina Vega. Vega delivers with an inspiring and heartfelt vocal performance and a great range that breeches the operatic, similar to the vocals of Dionne Warwick. On the majority of the tracks, Vega's vocal is solely accompanied by traditional, though skillful, piano arrangements crafted by pianist Michael Andrews. These simple arrangements bring the message of her words to the forefront which is, simply, praising God through song. "He Is Here" has four Vega originals and six traditional hymns and worship songs, and she sings each song beautifully, with immense inspiration and an open heart. The album is well recorded and creates a nice balance between the vocals, piano, and gospel message. "I Give My Heart" is a Vega original with nice piano work and inspiring, heartfelt lyrics about giving it all to Jesus. "Forever More" is a spiritual track with a soothing arrangement and hopeful lyrics about the afterlife. Her variations on traditional songs, including her operatic, multilingual rendition of "O Glorious Love" and her beautiful rendition of the standard hymn, "I Surrender All," are also noteworthy. "He Is Here" is a great album with an inspiring message, and should be looked into by anyone who enjoys praise & worship music and great female vocalists.

"The Call" by Francesco Buccheri (Spiritual/New Age Artist from Italy)

"The Call" is an inspiring instrumental new age EP from Italian
musician Francesco Buccheri. These four songs are inspired by, and
dedicated to, Buccheri's stay at the Monastery of Camaldoli, where his
interactions with the monks came to influence his music and his life.
The songs are religious, spiritual, and meditative, and the ambience
and new age sound are great for introspection. "The Call" is
well-produced, and the arrangements are clean and crisp at any volume.
"Il sogno" is a peaceful track with waves of ambience, a laid-back
beat, and melodic guitar. "Four Movements" is a less calming and more
exciting, louder track with a lot of ambience created by epic guitar
playing, the occasional cymbal crash, and rolling waves of drums in
the background. With "The Call," Francesco Buccheri elaborates upon
his religious experiences while keeping his music approachable by both
the non-secular and secular world. Fans of inspired new age music are
going to want to pick this one up.

“Velvet Inspirational and Christian Music” by Janyce Moomjian (Spiritual/Christian Artist from California (CA))

California vocalist/pianist Janyce Moomjian's "Velvet Inspirational and Christian Music" is an aptly titled album that uses the artist's vocal performance both as a musical instrument, as well as an instrument for teaching. This is the third release from Moomjian and Velvet Voyce Enterprises, all of which are intended, among other things, to provide vocal lessons to the listener. This particular album takes inspirational and Christian songs written by Janyce along with traditional inspirational and Christian songs, fashioning them around piano compositions and Moomjian's vocals. She sings in a theatrical, pop opera soprano similar to Barbara Streisand. "Velvet Inspirational and Christian Music" is well-produced and brings Moomjian's vocals to the forefront while keeping the piano audible but relatively light. "Tiny Star" has fun, lulling keyboard work and a great vocal performance about wishing, dreaming, and living. "Walk In The Lord" has an upbeat piano progression, a nice drum beat, and inspiring lyrics. "Ave Maria" is a great take on the traditional hymn with nice piano work and an excellent operatic vocal. Sopranos seeking vocal lessons and fans of inspirational Christian music and great piano work should certainly look into Janyce Moomjian.

With "Working My Way Up To You," Mike Koehl has delivered an album that should establish him as one of the greats in the non-secular music world. Fans of contemporary Christian rock should definitely pick this one up.

“Lewis Juell” by Lewis Juell (Spiritual Artist from British Columbia, Canada)

"Lewis Juell" is the self-titled acoustic-driven contemporary Christian debut brought to you by a talented singer/songwriter. Hailing from British Columbia, Juell grew up playing acoustic guitar at worship services at his church and expanded from there, always keeping his Christian devotion at the forefront of his music. The songs on Juell's debut were written over an eleven year span, all of them contemporary Christian and worship tracks highlighted by his excellent storytelling skills and infectious guitar solos. Juell's vocal performance is unique with a folky feel, and is great for his genre. The production quality of this album is also quite good, the vocals and arrangements clean and ready for quiet and loud play. "It's Cold Out Tonight" has nice instrumental layering and great storytelling lyrics about Juell's personal journey and his pursuit of heaven. "On A Road" has a great Americana feel as Juell sings the story of his life, about love, comfort, and finding his way. Overall, the self-titled debut from Lewis Juell is an impressive showing, filled with a strong folky vocal performance, great storytelling lyrics, and guitar solos to boot. “It's Time For Love” by Minister Marvin Webb (Spiritual Artist from San Francisco, California(CA))

Minister Webb is about to show you what rhythm & gospel is all about.

"Beckon Me" by Jill Shannon (Spiritual Artist from Pennsylvania(PA))

"Beckon Me" is a spiritual adult contemporary album with a folk undertone from singer/songwriter Jill Shannon. Jill's love for God is quite radiant, and these are works of extreme passion and faith. Jill pours her heart and soul into her vocal performances. There is a bit of an Irish feel to the sound, although Jill is of Jewish descent, as her beautiful tongue heavy delivery intertwined with complimentary fiddle make for a very Celtic impression. The overall sound of the album is full and airy, with delicate arrangements and a good mix of instrumentation throughout. "Beckon Me" is very well-recorded, as it brilliantly relates the instruments with the heavenly vocals. Highlights include the opener, "The Door Of Your Heart," which starts things off nicely with a wonderful vocal and beautiful piano progression, along with nice fiddle work. The title track, "Beckon Me," presents a more intimate approach, then booms into a very powerful number. "Im Ta'Amdu" has a bit of a world feel and goes back and forth nicely between the Hebrew and English languages. "Songs Without Words" by Jeff Calcara (Classical/Spiritual artist from California (CA))

"Songs Without Words" is a soothing collection of instrumental classical/folk guitar compositions from Jeff Calcara. Calcara's musicianship is similar to that of folk guitarist Leo Kottke, though Calcara leans more toward the classical end than folk. Each song is lulling, original and carefully crafted; conveying a soothing, powerful and emotional message solely created from the picking and strumming of an acoustic guitar. "Songs Without Words" is also well-produced, with each note hitting the listeners ears crisply and cleanly. "Song of the Sea" is a befitting title as the song carries you away and hits you in waves of guitar perfection. The trio of tracks, "Lullaby #1," "Lullaby #2," and "Lullaby #3" make you want to just close your eyes and listen, putting you in such a state of relaxation that you may find it hard to avoid a complete state of subconsciousness. Collectively, "Songs Without Words" is an incredible album that shows the raw and lasting talent of guitarist Jeff Calcara. Guitar aficionados and anyone who simply enjoys a lulling classical/folk guitar sound should definitely pick this one up.

"Realizing the Dream" by Bryan Austin (Spiritual artist from Missouri (MO))

Bryan Austin's "Realizing the Dream" is a traditional gospel album from a talented singer with a tremendous amount of faith. Bryan's journey is a passionate one. Austin approaches every song differently and puts everything he has into his performance. He has an impressive vocal range and belts it out with passion, raw emotion, and intimacy to the likes of Aaron Neville and Luther Vandross. Austin bares himself to his audience hoping the audience will, in turn, bear witness to the spiritual presence of the Lord. The arrangements are simple and could all be intimated inside a house of the Lord since Austin treats each track like a soulful gospel hymn. It's all about good old fashioned praise. The recording quality of "Realizing the Dream" nicely matches the rawness of Austin's vocal performance and doesn't rely on any effects to be effective. Highlights include "The Anchor Holds," which gives you a first taste of Austin's talent as a vocalist and really kicks off the journey. "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus" features some nice harmony and layering in the vocals and plays on a familiar song of patriotism. "Were You There" wraps things up with a nice guitar progression and beautiful female backing vocals. If you enjoy good ol' fashioned, soulful gospel, give "Realizing the Dream" a listen.

“The Blessing” by Larry Randall (Spiritual/Jazz artist from Texas)

"The Blessing" is a four CD, eighty-six song spiritually inspiring, contemporary jazz gospel box set from Larry Randall. Randall believes that he was called upon to minister the word of God with music, to express the Holy Ghost within him through song in hopes of inspiring the Holy Ghost in his listener. Not surprisingly, all eighty-six songs are filled with religious imagery and spiritual, joyous, Biblical, and even prophetic lyrics. Vocally, Randall is a crooner, and at times sounds similar to Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. The arrangements are typically simple and soft, so as not to overshadow Randall's message, but they are great collaborative efforts that hail from a variety of genres, including smooth jazz, big band, gospel, soul, Latin, Hindi, rock & roll, and R&B. The recording quality of "The Blessing" is quite good, and the arrangements and vocals both sound polished and professional. "We Are Home" is a slow smooth jazz number with smooth saxophone solos and lyrics of faith and unity. "Speak of His Joy" is a big band tune you could swear was actually being sung by Sinatra, and has more religious imagery about salvation and grace. "His Name is Jesus" has a great jazz arrangement as Randall pilfers through all of the names for Jesus. "Stand" is a fast-paced song with a Hindi-music-inspired arrangement and a group chant vocal. "Faithful and True" is a gospel song with a great organ-led arrangement and is a conversation between Randall and Jesus. "The Blessing" is a bold box set with great arrangements and ministering lyrics, and is it mere coincidence that it is a Bible-sized effort? Fans of contemporary jazz gospel looking to worship God through song, pick up Larry Randall's box set.
