"Live in Houston" by EJ Strong (Gospel Artist from Texas(TX))

EJ Strong's "Live in Houston" is a funkified high-energy gospel album that definitely "takes you to church". The spirit of the band is certainly captured on these tracks and the songs are rich and soulful. EJ's voice booms and every ounce of energy is put into every single word. You can't ignore the back up singers too. They mean business. Combine that with a tight band and lively arrangements, and "we have a winner". Highlights are the opener "For The Rest of My Days". It sets a memorable tone, starts off with a message and pumps up the room quickly. Although "Just Wanna Tell Ya" delivers praises the lord, the backup singers deserve some praises for this one. "Stay Focused" is another song with a strong message and features a hot guitar intro and another strong vocal performance. If you like Gospel, pick this one up.

"You Are" by Renee' Parker (Spiritual Artist from North Carolina(NC))

"You Are" by Renee' Parker Is an inspiring spiritual album that is comprised of many influences. You'll hear pop, jazz, country, and world vibes as well. Renee's voice is rich, warm and very pleasant. The arrangements on the CD are unique, keeping the CD interesting throughout. There is almost an island feel with the acoustic guitar and bongos in a few of the songs. There are no limitations to the creativity and realm of sounds that make up the production of this album. You certainly don't expect to hear a thick drum machine on an album of this nature. The lyrics on the CD are spritually-focused, positive, and inspirational. Highlights are the title track "You Are," with the previously mentioned drum machine and a nice vocal performance. "Abandoned to Jesus" is a hearty Country number with some nice slide guitar and a comforting vibe in the vocals. "Come Quickly" has a beautiful piano progression and displays the range in Renee's voice. If you are in need of spiritual inspiration, this is an excellent CD for you.

"Adriane Blanco" by Adriane Blanco (Spiritual Artist from Arizona(AZ))

"Adriane Blanco" by Adriane Blanco is an excellent collection of adult pop/rock-style, spiritually-driven songs that are polished, well written and well delivered. Adriane's pitch-perfect voice is shyly sensitive and works really well with the overall sound. In general, the album has a soft tone with big harmonized choruses, although each song is certainly unique and drawn from many influences. The musicianship and production are outstanding. The lyrics are well thought out and spiritually-focused, providing a positive message in a manner that is enjoyable to a mainstream adult rock audience. Highlights include "Near Me," which is a commercial radio-ready track. "Calling," which has a memorable guitar riff and a driving intensity, is another highlight track. "Show Me the Way" features mellotron, cool drum fills, an overall creativeness and well-delivered vocals. If you enjoy spiritually-based, adult rock music you will enjoy this outstanding CD.

"Mind on Jesus" by Pastor Huey (Spiritual artist from California (CA))

"Mind on Jesus" by Pastor Huey is an eclectic gospel album that features a big praise driven voice, courtesy of the man on the cover. The arrangements provide you with a modern feel, but don't stray far from the foundation of traditional gospel, with an effective and tight choir backing up the Pastor's powerful voice. The addition of Jazzy stylings gives this album a voice of it's own and a playfulness while getting right down to the business of faith through song. The production and musicianship on the CD are both very professional. Highlights include "That's Him," which opens with a quirky little Jazz sequence and keeps the vibe throughout. "Have You Tried Jesus" actually has a hip-hop feel to it and a sense of humor as well. "Thank You Lord" is a "hand-clapper" with some serious bass. If you like traditional or contemporary Gospel, you will enjoy this CD.

"Great Day" by The Melody Clouds (Spiritual Artist from Louisiana(LA))

"Great Day" contains 10 great big songs, with such a large variety of appealing sounds by The Melody Clouds. Each track stands on its own, as the entire CD production is fantastic. A powerfully performed rendition of the traditional hymn "The Saints" mixes this old standard with a modern-day groove and becomes a stand-out favorite. The quality of the soulful and soft vocal presentation by Ronald Scott captures our attention certainly on "I Know It Was The Blood", and the strong brass and keyboard production on "Lord You Brought Me" truly brings down the house. Overall, this album is filled with powerful tunes and inspirational lyrics. Fans of traditional gospel will enjoy this CD.
