"7 Spirituelle Lieder" by Peter Bayreuther (Spiritual/World artist from Germany)

"7 Spirituelle Lieder" by Peter Bayreuther is a very intriguing collection of spiritual tunes in honor of the Indian Bhajan tradition. These songs have a strong chant-like quality to their composition. "Göttlich" is very conducive to the sing-along energy found throughout this CD, and features a strong chorus of male and female vocals with a backdrop of interesting world instrumentation. In listening to "IchBinStark," one can feel Peter's joyous energy and the strong percussive groove of this track. Adding to the cultural appeal of this album is the diverse percussive instruments and drum arrangements. Vocally, the chorus-like chants are very spiritual and transcendental. Moreover, the musical backdrops of these tunes are very relaxing and reflect interesting compositions of native instruments. Fans of world music will enjoy this eclectic fusion of cultures.

"Two Needles and Six Wires" by Six Wires (Spiritual Artist from Japan)

The self titled "Two Needles and Six Wires" is an experimental and largely improvisational Avant Garde album brought to you by the Japanese duo of Takahiro Inoue and DJ Jet Sonic. The sounds of nature is a big influence in this piece of work. That is about the only normal thing about it. The ride is a wild one with crazy burping guitar sounds, freakish electronic arrangements and an overall disturbed tone. It's kind of like they took extremely pleasant sounds and threw them into a nightmare. Pretty fun if you ask me. Highlights are "Green" with detuned electric guitar over a soundscape, sounding like some strange animal. "Underground" is full of that burping guitar and slippery synths. "Time" features distorted bubble synths and "out there" bluesy guitar. If you like Experimental and Improvisational music, give this one a go.

“Recovery It was-It is” by Kenny K (Spiritual/Christian artist from Florida (FL))

"Recovery It was-It is" by Kenny K is a CD with meaningful lyrics and an tropical folk sound reminiscent of Jimmy Buffet. The lyrics are simple and heartfelt. Some tracks on "Live and Let Live" give the simple lesson that no man is truly alone, that there is always someone out there just like you. There is a spiritual message to those who have or are recovering from substance abuse. The folky tropical style with harmonica fills, gives an upbeat feel to the music. Some of the tracks on the CD are humorous and some are sad, but each is unique. "Whiskey Down The Drain" has a nice build to a strong chorus, and includes humorous lyrics and a traditional country sound. "Happy Joyous and Free" nicely combines serious lyrics with an upbeat tropical folk sound. "How She Cried" has a strong Johnny Cash feel to it, which works well with Kenny's vocals. If you enjoy tropical folk music of artists like Jimmy Buffet, or can relate to substance abuse recovery, this is an excellent CD to check out.

"In God We Trust" by Set In Stone (Spiritual Artist from California(CA))

"In God We Trust" by Set in Stone is a Christian rock album influenced greatly by blues and classic rock. Its musical fabric is made up of a compelling blend of hard rock/metal guitar riffs, fat rhythms, and soulful southern style vocal performances. The mood is, of course, very positive and delightfully energetic. The combination of Michael's throaty, passionate vocals and the band's big, tight sound sends listeners on an unforgettable musical experience unlike many others. Highlights include "I've Been Searching," which flaunts a powerful a capella intro, a slight funk rock vibe, some nice drum fills, and an identifiable chorus. "El Shaddai Elohim" slows things down a bit and features ambient keys and delicate guitar solos. "When He Comes Back Again" has a wicked guitar riff and big arena rock vocals. Fans of uplifting spiritual lyrics and groovy rock will absolutely love this collection.
